Ugandans bitter Micho earns millions as She Cranes' Mugerwa pockets nothing
"I have never been paid," Uganda Netball team head coach Fred Mugerwa made a daunting revelation as the She Cranes returned from the triumphant 2023 Netball World Cup.
It was indeed a dark-coloured reception at the Serena Hotel, Kampala on Monday in what initially promised a joyous atmosphere, after Uganda had clinched top-spot in Africa and fifth in the world.
"To me I think, enough is enough. I may not renew my contract. It's a bitter note because I cannot be abused and not get paid," Mugerwa said, with a remarkable disappoinment.
This has sparked rage among Ugandans, going ahead to juxtapose the case with Uganda national senior football team head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic.
Frame one: Has zero idea of Football, Cranes play shitty football, been thumped by both small & big nations, he's more into coffee deals than football coaching:

Reward: 80m p.m
Frame two: Takes Uganda to Africa's no.1 spot and 5th in the universe
Reward: No salary for 2yrs https://t.co/5jDxGTeOca
While Mugerwa has only received Shs. 500,000 in 2021, it's reported that Micho earns a hugely exorbitant monthly salary of $24,000 (about Shs 84m).
Anyone who justifies the amount of money FUFA gets compared to more successful federations is a thief just like their president. https://t.co/w1qz6vDCKX

Arguing for their case would be commendable yes, but as it stands, which criteria does @NCSUganda1 use to determine the so called Priority sports?

And then again, with all that football budget, when are we expecting thorough accountability $ results back as a ROI?
Social Media has thus compared their respective successes, asserting that it's Mugerwa that should be taking home the millions instead of the Serbian.
I know it feels like we are attacking someone personally here bt truth be told, one deserves far less than what he signed for or even better for us if he quits & the other deserves far more than what he's being given both financially & the human treatment.

While it's the case, another section believes it should be a point of prioritizing all the various sports sects rather than the comparisons.
This is where the debate lose meaning.

It would be in a good one to stimulate our government but people compare things that are not related
Liberty let me tell you something that we all err. From what we have realized over the years, let each federation argue their case minus mention of football. Netball has a justifiable case to argue naye abasinga we mirror football in our debate. Omupiira tuguleke mbegayiridde.
