UK Athletics has unveiled its roster of top-tier athletes who will represent Great Britain & Northern Ireland at the upcoming World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24, slated for May 4th and 5th.

The selection includes formidable lineups for both the men’s and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m relays, as well as the mixed 4x400m relay.

With an eye firmly set on securing berths for the Paris Olympic Games, UKA's objective is crystal clear.

Following an impressive medal haul at Budapest in 2023, where GB & NI excelled in four out of five relay finals, UKA Olympic Head Coach Paula Dunn is determined to replicate and surpass that success.

“The GB & NI team selected is incredibly strong and we are heading to Nassau to secure those vital Paris Olympic slots," remarked Dunn.

"The performances in Budapest last summer were fantastic, but we know each year the other nations are working harder and harder on their relay programmes. We cannot take anything for granted and we are going there with a clear aim to put us on the road to Paris."

Darren Campbell, Head of Sprints, hurdles, and relays, echoed Dunn's sentiments, expressing his satisfaction with the team's composition.

He particularly highlighted the 4x400m squads' impeccable medal record from Budapest, emphasizing the importance of maintaining this success.

“Our lead 4x400m relay coach Martyn Rooney obviously has a lot of experience in bringing the best out of these teams, and I’m looking forward to seeing those athletes step up at the Championships," noted Campbell.

Despite the men’s 4x100m team narrowly missing out on a medal in Budapest, Campbell expressed confidence in their abilities.

“They have had their fair share of challenges in recent years, but I have had my own discussions with each and every member of the squad and know they are motivated, committed and focused on working together to reach Paris," he said.

Likewise, Campbell praised the women’s 4x100m squad for their exceptional speed and talent, anticipating stiff competition for team slots for Paris, especially with the inclusion of star athletes Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita later in the season.
