Vipers appoint former URA head coach amidst Livingstone Mbabazi's uncertainties
After two games without having head coach Livingstone Mbabazi on the touchline, reigning Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have appointed tactician Fred Muhumuza.
Muhumuza joins the Venoms' technical team as an assistant coach, for an unspecified period.
Mbabazi missed each of their victories with URA FC (2-0) and the 2-1 triumph over UPDF last evening, casting his future into further doubts.
Meanwhile, Muhumuza is expected to buoy the coaching staff as the team hopes to defend the League and Uganda Cup trophies.
The Venoms are second in the league with 40 points, while they are also in the quarterfinals of the Uganda Cup, where they'll face Kitara FC in Masindi in two weeks.
Muhumuza last appeared at URA FC, as the interim head coach during the first half of the campaign, following the unprecedent death of manager Sam Timbe.
The tactician was their by succeeded by Uganda Cranes and Kaizer Chiefs legend David Obua.
The youthful tactician, who is a CAF B license holder, ais former player SC Villa and the now-defunct Victors.
Muhumuza has coached at Tooro Province in the FUFA Drum competition, previously.
