Vipers coach Leo Neiva's assessment of Allan Okello's display against URA
Playmaker Allan Okello finally debuted for Vipers SC as they comfortably beat URA FC 2-0 on Thursday at St. Mary's Stadium, Kitende.
The former KCCA FC star came on for Karim Watambala in the 75th minute and showed glimpses of his brilliance.
He could perhaps have offered more, but the Venoms were reduced to ten men in the 77th minute as Isa Mubiru got sent off, and they needed more defending than attacking, limiting him.
Vipers head coach Leonard Martins Neiva was left a satisfied man given that Okello was only playing his first league game since May as a KCCA player.
"Today, Allan (Okello) played around 20 minutes. He needs match fitness, but he played well," Neiva said in his post-match press interview.
"But for sure, he can offer more step by step, but I'm satisfied with him and the result, and let's wait for UPDF FC next week, away from home."
On the victory against the Tax Collectors, the Brazilian tactician was left delighted with the result despite a not-so-vintage display.
"The most important thing today is the win; we played so much better (well) against KCCA (3-1 defeat) and SC Villa (1-1) than today if you compare."
"Football is like that; at times, you don't put up an amazing performance but get the result, so today it was about the result."
