Vipers throw final dice at championship

In their penultimate fixture before the closure of the 2023/2024 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season, Vipers SC visit Busoga United at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru, on Tuesday.

While the Venoms seek a third successive championship, Busoga United have survival high on their wishlist.

Vipers are fourth on table with 50 points, two behind leaders BUL FC after 27 matches.

On the other hand, Busoga United sit 13th on the 16-team log with 25 points, a place above the relegation zone.

In their first round meeting, Vipers ran out comfortable 3-0 victors at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende, courtesy of Erick Kenzo Kambale, Milton Karisa and Abubakar Lawal.

Meanwhile, the Venoms hold the lion’s share of victories in the head to head, with ten in the past 14 meetings since 2016 when Busoga joined the top-flight.

Two fixtures have ended Busoga’s way while the other two ended in stalemates.
