Vipers to take on Mamelodi Sundowns in exciting friendly

As they prepare for the 2023/24 CAF Champions League, Vipers SC will entertain South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns FC in an international friendly.

The huge one for the Venoms is scheduled for Wednesday, August 16th, 2023, at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.

That will be just four days before they tussle it out with Botswana outfit Jwaneng Galaxy in the first leg of the preliminary round of the Champions League.

The Sundowns match is set to provide head coach Leonard Martins Neiva and his charges the perfect preparations, as Masandawana is one of the finest teams on the continent.

Sundowns, which is also home to former Uganda Cranes skipper Dennis Onyango, has won 16 Premier Soccer League trophies and one Champions League title.

They also have a CAF Super Cup, four MTN 8 cups, four Telkom Knockout championships and six Nedbank Cups.

The Uganda Premier League champions are keen on making a stronger showing at the continent, having made the group stages last season.
