But on Wednesday, he was in an unforgiving mood as he terrorised his former teammates to shoot NEC into a comfortable victory.

Former Vipers SC right-back Joseph Dhata had netted the opener in the first half for Hussein Mbalangu's outfit.

On the night, the hosts made the faster start and nearly got into the lead after just ten minutes, but goalkeeper Denis Otim denied a well-struck effort from Cromwell Rwothomio.

Four minutes to the break, the Hussien Mbalangu-coached side broke the deadlock with Dhata shooting superbly past Otim.

NEC could have doubled the lead at the stroke of half-time, but Otim brilliantly saved Rashid Okocha's shot from distance.

With the home team continuing their dominion in the second half, Rwothomio stung in the 58th minute to make it 2-0.

For the second time this season, the MTN Omondi Stadium floodlights shut down again midway through the game, leaving a dark, hollow pitch.

After the forced break, NEC, ironically, seemed the hungrier and should have made it 3-0, but Otim superbly tamed a Brian Kayanja shot with 20 minutes to play.

Following the victory, NEC have ascended to the fourth place, garnering 19 points in 10 matches.

They will hope to move further top when they visit leaders BUL FC on December 10.
