The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu, rose to the top of the trends as he showed skills at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Contender Lagos.
Babajide Sanwoolu celebrated a special occasion on the tournament’s last day, showcasing exciting table tennis matches where champions were determined in Women's Singles, Men's Singles, Women's Doubles, and Men's Doubles events at WTT Contender Lagos 2024.

The WTT Contender Lagos, in its second edition, attracted global talent for a thrilling week of table tennis.
Sanwoolu Showed Table Tennis Skills
The governor was given the honour of playing table tennis with one of the ITTF top officials at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of Teslim Balogun Stadium on Sunday.
The governor seized the opportunity to show off his unique skills.

Sanwoolu pledge more support for sports
During the WTT Lagos final day, the Governor also pledged that his administration will continue to support sporting activities.
He highlighted the importance of hosting an international competition.
He said, "At the just concluded World Table Tennis (WTT) Contender Lagos event, we once again witnessed Lagos being highlighted on the international table tennis stage.
"The tournament served as a remarkable platform for local players to challenge themselves against top-tier athletes from around the world.
"This experience not only fueled growth and inspiration among aspiring table tennis talents in Lagos and Nigeria but also showcased our city's prowess on the global stage. With over 70 elite players participating, Lagos has solidified its reputation as the ultimate hub for Table Tennis.

German player Dimitrij Ovtcharov and India’s Sreeja Akula secured the singles titles at the 2024 WTT Contender Lagos.
