USA coach on victory against Nigeria
In an interview with FIFA, coach Katie Schoepfer detailed the approach of the USA against the Flamingos and also for the tournament.
She said, “I think it starts with the players on the field buying into that, from forwards to goalkeepers we defend, and it's a team concept and we do it together.
“Our back line and our goalkeepers help organise, but our forwards have to defend, our midfielders have to defend, and they've bought into our good defending leads to good attacking.”
The USA now takes on North Korea for a place in the final of the World Cup.
