'We expect a lot from Joshua' - Mike Tyson blasts former heavyweight champion

'We got caught up in the bandwagon' - Tyson takes a swipe at Anthony Joshua after

American former professional boxer Mike Tyson has blasted British professional boxer of Nigerian descent Anthony Joshua.

The jab from Tyson to Joshua comes after another British professional boxer Tyson Fury retained his WBC heavyweight title against Dillian Whyte last weekend.

The 55-year-old Tyson made the comments about Joshua while on a podcast with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) color commentator Joe Rogan.

On the podcast, Tyson and Rogan discussed several issues about life and boxing.

The 55-year-old Tyson then went on to give his thoughts about Joshua who is no longer a heavyweight champion.

According to Tyson, a lot is expected from Joshua because of the 'bandwagon'.

Joshua last year suffered his second professional loss to Ukrainian professional boxer Oleksandr Usyk.

Usyk defeated Joshua at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September 2021 to claim the WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF boxing heavyweight titles.

It was the second loss for Joshua after his initial defeat against American professional boxer of Mexican heritage Andy Ruiz Madison Square Garden back in June 2019.

Speaking about Joshua, Tyson said, "Anthony Joshua's no walkover. It's just that for some reason, I don't know, we expect a lot from Joshua.

"I guess maybe because English people are so behind him and we got caught up in the bandwagon too. Americans expect a lot out of Joshua."

Joshua, a two-time former unified world heavyweight champion is expected to have a rematch with Usyk for the titles later this year.
