‘We lost a lot and took a lot of risks’ - Sacked AC Milan boss blames Chukwueze’s injury for Roma draw
On Sunday night, AC Milan faced a difficult opponent in Roma and were only able to secure a 1-1 draw.
The Rossoneri opened the scoring in the 16th minute from a Tijjani Reijnders strike before Paulo Dybala equalised for Roma.
Super Eagles star Chukwueze was one of the best players on the pitch for Milan but was subbed off in the game due to an injury.
What Fonseca said
Fonseca said after the game that his team failed to win because of Chukwueze's forced exit.
According to Nicolo Schira on X, he said, “In the first half, we created several chances to score. Very fair attitude from the players.
“But with Chukwueze’s exit, we lost a lot and took a lot of risks. We deserved to win, but we missed many chances.”

There are concerns that Chukwueze may have sustained a hamstring injury, which might keep him out of action for a few weeks.
Meanwhile, the draw against Roma has led to the sacking of Fonseca, with the team struggling to challenge this season.
The Italian side are currently languishing in eighth position in the Serie A table and are far off top four.
