Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, Kipchumba Murkomen, has ruthlessly descended on Tanzania ahead of the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) quarterfinal.
Tanzania’s Taifa Stars will be up against Morocco in their quarterfinal match on Friday, August 22, at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.

Currently, reports are making headlines that Kenyan fans have purchased tickets for the Tanzania vs Morocco clash, with the former Sports CS applauding those who made the bold decision.
Kipchumba Murkomen urged the fans to show up for the match and make sure they support two-time CHAN champions Morocco.
“I congratulate all Kenyans who have bought the Tanzanian tickets. Please, don’t buy them and stay home, please avail yourself and support Morocco,” Kipchumba Murkomen said.
“I like the banter that is there, and on a serious note, if I were to take sides, I would take Tanzania as a member of the East Africa Community. However, if they are going to take sides the way they have done, I’d rather choose Morocco.”

Kipchumba Murkomen further noted that he hopes to see Kenya and Tanzania in the final scheduled to be played at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
He hinted at plans to unsettle the Tanzanians during the match, joking about their grasp of English, given that Kiswahili is their primary language.
“I hope it’s going to happen, that we see Tanzania vs Kenya in the final in Nairobi. Just imagine Tanzania and Kenya qualify for the final, and it will be in Nairobi,” Murkomen added.
“That would be the best thing that could have happened to us. for the sake of Tanzanians who might not get what I have said, I would love to speak in Kiswahili, tutacheza kwa kingereza ndio wasielewe game yetu (We shall play in English so that they don’t understand our technique).”
With his remarks stirring both banter and rivalry, Kipchumba Murkomen has added extra spice to the CHAN 2024 quarterfinals, leaving fans eagerly awaiting to see if his bold call for Kenyans to rally behind Morocco will have any impact on the heated Tanzania showdown.
