Who are the 20 countries that have hosted the Africa Cup of Nations?

On Wednesday, CAF announced the two hosts for the 2025 and 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Moroccan bid that is meant to push the odds higher for the North African nation to vouch for the 2030 FIFA World Cup was unopposed at the last hour.

Algeria, Zambia and Nigeria/Niger withdrew their candidacy in support of Morocco.

CAF awarded the famous East African Pamoja bid to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

In total, only 20 countries have hosted the Africa Cup of Nations since its inception in 1957.

CECAFA giants Sudan hosted the first final in Khartoum and have managed to stage it twice also in 1970.

Egypt have hosted the Africa Cup of Nations the five times, the highest.

Ghana have hosted the AFCON four times while Ethiopia and Tunisia have done it thrice.
