Francis Ngannou, a Cameroonian-French mixed martial artist, is still looking for a boxing match in Africa.

Ngannou wants to fight Anthony Joshua, a British professional boxer of Nigerian heritage, despite having signed a new contract with MMA company Professional Fighters League (PFL).

Ngannou the former heavyweight title holder of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has been available for acquisition for some time.

After leaving the organization, he has kept a close watch on a boxing project.

It is said that "The Predator" has discussed a fight this year with a number of prominent figures in the ring, including Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder, and Joshua.

Ngannou recently disclosed that he has joined the PFL MMA company with plans to make his debut in 2024 after securing a boxing match. 

The Cameroon star thinks a matchup with Joshua in Africa would generate more attention than a bout with Wilder, who appears to be the front-runner.

When discussing his choices in the boxing ring after signing to restart his career in the cage, Ngannou said on The DAZN MMA Show, “Anthony Joshua is a fight we like.

“We spoke with Eddie Hearn once but that was when Joshua was about to fight Franklin. 

"If we bring this to Africa then it is going to be massive. I think this will get him excited, that he can fight in this continent.”

Given that Joshua, a British star, has pledged to box on the continent because of his Nigerian ancestry, Ngannou believes it will be a sizable draw.
