Several unnamed Bundesliga clubs have shown interest in the 28-year-old defensive midfielder, with a summer transfer looking likely.

Wilfred Ndidi off to Germany?

Ndidi had been on the radar of Premier League clubs like Manchester United and even Everton, with a modest relegation release clause of £9 million; however, it seems his future lies outside the shores of Britain.

A few Bundesliga clubs could benefit from his strength and steel in midfield. Borussia Dortmund’s Niko Kovač is seeking a robust No. 6, while Bayer Leverkusen may need to replace Granit Xhaka.

Ndidi, who contributed 5 assists in 28 Premier League games last season, brings vast experience with 66 caps for Nigeria’s Super Eagles and a 2020-21 FA Cup title with Leicester.

He remains a player with transformative ability, especially in a team with players of comparable quality, and he could bring his unique blend of physicality and playmaking to the German top-flight next season.

Ndidi arrived at Leicester City from KRC Genk in January 2017 for €17.6m and went on to make 220 Premier League appearances for the Foxes.
