"I'm not sure how much internal damage it could have caused me."

He was rushed to Kapchorwa town for medical treatment.

Kiplimo, 23, had just won the cross country World Championships on Saturday in Belgrade with a time of 28:09, a race he successfully defended after the triumph last year in Bathurst, Australia.

The accident comes at a time as Kiplimo and his teammates are hoping to have better, high-performance preparations for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.

He has underlined his major focus will lie with the 10,000m race in Paris, but hasn't ruled out competing in the 5,000 as well.
