Karim is expected to work with Andrew Tendo, who has been in charge of the team in the National Basketball League, where they have won 10 out of 11 games.

Nine-time National Basketball League champions City Oilers have made Moroccan coach Nesba Karim the man at the helm ahead of the 2024 Basketball Africa League (BAL).

The versed coach was seen attending the City Oilers’ training session on Tuesday and Wednesday, at the MTN Lugogo Indoor Arena.

Nesba is a former Moroccan international basketball player who comes along with enviable expertise.

For the BAL, City Oilers are pooled in the Nile Conference group which will tip-off on  April 19 in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

The conference comprises BAL holders Al Ahly (Egypt), Libyan powerhouse Al Ahly and Bangui Sporting Club of Central African Republic.

The Oilers will progress to the playoffs in Kigali in May, should they finish in the top two in the group stage.

Karim is a great coach who previously spent most of his time nurturing young basketball talents with the NBA Academy Africa.

To be more specific, he is a player development coach with the academy but also acts as a scout to help identify talent in Africa.

His experience and exposure at the top level will be very positive as City Oilers seek a place in the BAL playoffs.
