City Oilers: The Unstoppable Force The eight-time defending champions, City Oilers, are still taking the National Basketball League by storm once again with a perfect 6-0 record.

They defeated RezLife Saints(88-55), JKL Dolphins (74-62), and UPDF Tomahawks (87-53) in week three, extending their winning streak to six games.

At this rate, they look set to go unbeaten before they head off to Cairo for the Basketball Africa League. Titus Lual and Fayed Baale have been the most effective 1-2 punch in the league.

They are the current front runners for MVP and occupy the top two spots in scoring, with 91 and 89 points, respectively. The defending champions are favorites to make it seven wins in a row when they face UCU Canons on Good Friday.

 Women's Division: The Perfect Trio

The Magic Stormers (3-0), KCCA Leopards (2-0), and Nabisunsa girls basketball club (1-0) have made an impressive start to the season with perfect records in the Women's division.

The Magic Stormers, in particular, have surprised everyone with their impressive start, defeating the Miracle Ravens (64- 56), JT Lady Jaguars (69-63), and A1 Challenge Club (47-33).

Kur Ajah leads the team with 17 points per game and is the league leader in blocks with 3 per game. Christine Nakito leads the league with 16 rebounds per game, massively contributing to their impressive start to the season.

The KCCA Leopards have also started their season on the right foot, defeating both the JKL Lady Dolphins (63-58) and Miracle Ravens (55-44), with Peace Nakirijja leading the league in three-point percentage(50%) and free throw percentage(100%).

Head Coach Miller Fitzgerald will be looking to continue their unbeaten run against the defending champions, the UCU Lady Canons, on Good Friday.

Meanwhile, Nabisunsa Girls Basketball Club began their season with a 66-58 win over the Nkumba Lady Marines last weekend.

The Battle for the 'Best of the Rest Position

KIU Titans, UCU Canons, and Namuwongo Blazers are all vying for the 'best of the rest position in the league.

Although we are only three weeks into the 2023 National Basketball League season, these teams are trying to catch up with the champions, who have won six straight games, including a 71-59 blowout victory over the Titans in their season opener.

Namuwongo Blazers and UCU Canons played out a thrilling 87-77 overtime win last week, with the Canons emerging victorious.

Matches between these three sides will be crucial in determining their seeding come playoff time, as they all look to have the best chance of dethroning the City Oilers.

Based on previous seasons and off-season acquisitions, KIU Titans, UCU Canons, and Namuwongo Blazers are the teams best positioned to finish in the upper tiers of the league and compete with the City Oilers for the title.

It's been an exciting start to the National Basketball League, and fans can look forward to more thrilling matchups in the coming weeks.
