Shadir Musa Bwogi is knocking out opponents in the ring as he inspires fellow boxers and the next generation from his Naguru community at the same time.
The Super welterweight, light middleweight, middleweight and Super middleweight boxer, through his SMB foundation in partnership with leading betting firm PulseBet Uganda on Tuesday, donated a 10,000-liter tank to the East Coast boxing gym, which is located in the Naguru slum area.
The donation is aimed at helping over 200 boxers in the community get access to clean, safe and healthy water.
"Our goal as the SMB foundation is to support the youth in improving their livelihoods and communities through sport instead of crime," Bwogi noted.
"We're glad PulseBet came on board to provide a boost through the provision of clean water to this boxers' community."
PulseBet reiterated its commitment to making meaningful community investments positively impacting the sports fraternity and community.
"At PulseBet, we are committed to making meaningful community investments that positively impact the sports fraternity," a press release stated.
"We hope it goes a long way in improving the lives of these boxers and their community, which will improve their performance in training and fights."
The East Coast boxing gym has existed for over 20 years. It has produced many national boxing champions like current Bombers captain Joshua Tukamuhebwa, brothers Miiro and Fazil Juma among others.
