The bowler, who got injured after just four deliveries of the first over during the first game on Wednesday, has now been ruled out for the rest of the series, the Uganda Cricket Association has confirmed.

It gets worse for the Cricket Cranes each passing day in Namibia, with the latest being Juma Miyaji’s injury setback.

The bowler, who got injured after just four deliveries of the first over during the first game on Wednesday, has now been ruled out for the rest of the series, the Uganda Cricket Association has confirmed.

The sad development was confirmed on the association’s Twitter handle on Thursday afternoon, as they also confirmed Miyaji’s replacement Joseph Baguma.

“Juma Miyaji has been ruled out of the Castle Lite Series due to an injury; he will be replaced by Joseph Baguma in the squad,” read part of the tweet.

“Baguma will join the team in Namibia as soon as possible as soon as Miyaji returns home to start his recovery.”

With all-rounder Riazat Ali Shar back home after misplacing his passport and the absence of siblings Henry Ssenyondo and Simon Ssesazi, who returned following the tragic death of their mother, the team will miss four key players.

The Cricket Association also confirmed that due to the player shortfall, team manager and former Cricket Cranes bowler Charles Waiswa has also been roped in on the squad for the second game on Thursday.

Uganda lost by 26 runs, but Ronald Lutaaya’s 54(46) performance stood out on the day.
