The FUFA Women's Cup semifinal lineup might look odd without Kampala Queens, the FUFA Women Super League champions-elect were outright favourites for this one too.

The FUFA Women's Cup semifinal lineup might look odd without Kampala Queens, the FUFA Women Super League champions-elect were outright favourites for this one too.

But they were stopped at the quarterfinal stage by Kawempe Muslim 5-1 in a one-sided affair on Sunday morning.

That shuttered the Kampala Queen's dreams of landing a double, which would have also been a first in Uganda's history of women's football.

Standing tall to eliminate Kampala Queens leaves Kawempe Muslim as the favourite side to walk away with this year's Women's Cup.

However, in their path stands FWSL fellas Uganda Martyrs and Asubo Gafford, together with Elite League side She Maroons.

The latter was the first to book a slot in the last four when they saw off FWSL side Olila High 2-1 in Luzira on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Uganda Martyrs beat Makerere University 2-1 at the Makerere University Grounds on Sunday morning.

In the other quarterfinal played on the day, FWSL side Asubo Gafford edged St. Noa Girls 4-3 in the post-match penalties following a goalless draw in regular times.

The semifinal pairings will have an FWSL match-up between Kawempe Muslim and Uganda Martyrs, whilst FWEL side She Maroons will entertain Asubo Gafford.
