Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta sang praises of his team after the 2-0 victory over Brighton.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was elated by his team’s statement performance against Brighton and made glowing remarks about his team.

The Gunners trumped the Seagulls 2-0 at the Emirates to return to the top of the Premier League.

After a dominant but unlucky first-half, the hosts intensified their efforts and found the opener in the 53rd minute after a Gabriel Jesus strike. German international Kai Havertz added a more assured feeling to the scoreline in the 87th minute when he finished coolly past Bart Verbruggen.

What Arteta said

"Incredible performance,” the Spanish manager said in the post-match presser, per the BBC.

“A joy to watch from the start to the end. The way we did it against this very good team. Even at half-time, the scoreline didn’t reflect that. We fully deserved to win the game.

"We had 15 shots [in the first half]. It was a lot. We had to keep going. We don’t have that accuracy in front of goal."
