Arua Hill SC and Busoga United are on the brink of demotion to the FUFA Big League ahead of the 2023/24 season.

In the latest communique released by the Federation of Uganda Football Association, Busoga United and Arua Hill SC have failed to submit the minimum mandatory requirements as per the Club Licensing regulations and risk not being considered for the 2023/24 season if they fail to comply in seven days.

"Two (2) clubs; Busoga United FC and Arua Hill SC have failed to submit the minimum mandatory requirements as per the Club Licensing regulations," part of the statement reads.

"Busoga United FC and Arua Hill SC will not be included in the UPL Fixtures for 2023/24. Both clubs will be considered for the FUFA Big League next season."

"The two clubs have a right of appeal within 7 days of receipt of this decision."

FUFA announced that 14 clubs have fully submitted the minimum requirements and thus qualify for inclusion in the 2023/24 season fixtures.

"Fourteen (14) clubs have fully submitted the minimum Club Licensing requirements. They have been cleared for inclusion in the final fixtures of StarTimes UPL 2023/24 season."

According to the licensing requirements for the 2023/24 season, StarTimes Uganda Premier League and FUFA Big League clubs are obliged to submit all physical documents related to the Club Licensing Core Process minimum requirements.

Additionally, they must have a minimum of eighteen players approved on their dashboard, with two designated as goalkeepers.

The top-tier league is slated to begin September 5.
