The talented midfielder is widely expected to join Real Madrid this summer.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl says he is expecting “movement” regarding Jude Bellingham’s future at the club.

Bellingham has been linked with a move away this summer, with Real Madrid in pole position as it stands to sign the teenager, as reported by The Athletic.

Kehl said last week that the club was yet to receive any proposals from any other clubs for the England international, but following the season’s conclusion, the Dortmund chief thinks the situation will be resolved in the “near future.”

“I assume that there will now be movement,” said Kehl, speaking to Bild. “We know that the player is of great value to us, and that he has an ongoing contract with no release clause. Everything else will be revealed in the near future. We are preparing for different scenarios.”

Bellingham joined the Bundesliga club in the summer of 2020 from Birmingham City. His current contract expires in the summer of 2025.

The 19-year-old made 42 appearances for the club in all competitions this season, scoring 14 goals, providing seven assists and captaining the side on several occasions.

But Dortmund missed winning their first Bundesliga title in 11 years after being held to a 2-2 draw by Mainz last Saturday, a game Bellingham sat out through injury.

At just 19 years old, football fans need no convincing of Bellingham’s career trajectory as it shows just how talented he is — he is incredibly well-rounded in his playing profile.

Dortmund boss Edin Terzic has rotated between a 4-2-3-1, a 4-3-3, and a 4-1-4-1 system at Dortmund this season, Bellingham has showcased his versatility to play as a Number six, eight, and 10.

He is a generational talent who is one of the most coveted midfielders in world football and has earned the right to select his next career destination. Liverpool recently pulled out of a deal to sign the talented youngster last April.
