Cameroon, Namibia survive Burundi scare to seal final Africa Cup of Nations slots
A spirited second-half performance handed Cameroon the final 2023 Africa Cup of Nations slot after beating Burundi 3-0 in Garoua on Tuesday night.
The East African nation needed a win to secure qualification but Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana was at his usual best to keep them at bay in the early exchanges.
Caleb Bimenyimana and Saidi Ntibazonkiza had chances to fire home, but the Manchester United keeper was alert.
The Burundians managed to hold back Cameroon’s endless questions in the final minutes of the first half, but the Indomitable Lions roared as soon as the second started.
