Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia prepare for party as Ugandan referees to miss 2023 Africa Cup of Nations

For years running, the quality of football and refereeing in Uganda has continued slipping.

Now, as the country continues to reel in pain over Uganda Cranes failing to qualify for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, CAF has also sidelined Ugandan referees.

The confederation released a list of 32 referees and 33 assistant referees on Tuesday morning to undergo a preparation course for the Ivory Coast finals, with none from Uganda.

From the pool of 70, which includes video assistant referees and technical and physical instructors, about nine come from the CECAFA region.

Kenya will have three, Burundi two, while Djibouti, Somalia, Ethiopia and Rwanda have one each.
