Getafe loanee Jakub Jankto took to his social media to come out as gay.
Czech Republic international midfielder Jakub Jankto has publicly come out as gay.
Jankto is currently on loan at Sparta Prague from LaLiga side Getafe after spending a huge chunk of his career in Italy with Ascoli, Udinese, and Sampdoria.

The 27-year-old midfielder posted a compelling video of himself on social media, declaring that he is gay and no longer wishes to conceal the fact.

The Getafe loanee revealed his sexuality to the public, saying he wants to live his life without fear, prejudice, and violence.
"Hi, I am Jakub Jankto. Like everybody else, I have my strengths, I have my weaknesses, I have a family, I have my friends," Jankto said via his social media account.
"I have a job, which I have been doing as best as I can for years, with seriousness, professionalism, and passion.
"Like everybody else, I also want to live my life in freedom without fears, without prejudice, without violence, but with love.
"I am homosexual, and I no longer want to hide myself."
Jankto joins a growing list of male football players who have come out as homosexual as the world of football continues to become more accepting of diversity.
In 2021, Josh Cavallo, who plays for A-League side Adelaide, became the first player in men's football to come out openly gay. Since then, only a few names have come out to do the same, including Blackpool's Jake Daniels.
Jankto becomes the first LaLiga player to come out as homosexual, and his parent club Getafe took to their social media to show their support for the midfielder, saying they support him unconditionally.
Getafe were only one of the many football clubs and bodies that came out in support of Jankto following the post, with the FIFA official account tweeting, "We're all with you, Jakub. Football is for everyone," in reply to the post.
LaLiga clubs Barcelona, Celta Vigo, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia, Osasuna were also seen with messages of support in reply to Jankto's post.
The midfielder has won 45 caps for his country, including at Euro 2020, where he played five times for the Czech Republic.
