Film Maker and Daily Monitor’s Allan Darren Kyeyune has been voted as the 2023 Pulse Sports Influencer of the year Award for 2023.

The nominees for the award included Galaxy FM's Denis Mayega and Bukedde TV’s Kakooza Ramzan.

Also among the nominees are Hudson Mugweri, a basketball commentator, Radio One Lockerroom’s Echodu Moses and FatCats Podcast.

A notable contender, Kyeyune also secured this award in the previous year, and was voted the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) writer of the month for August.

This recognition further speaks volumes about his influence in the sports journalism landscape as a global filmmaker and storyteller.

Through his Kye Films, Kyeyune has told the story of Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Salim Jamal through a documentary titled Believing in God.

He has also told the story of Uganda’s She Cranes ahead of the 2023 Netball World Cup in a documentary titled Time To Shine.

His portfolio includes awards and interactions with some of Uganda and the world's best sports personalities in various disciplines.

Kyeyune's storytelling prowess extends across different media, from text to audio and video.

His work has been featured on multiple international platforms, showcasing his dedication to amplifying sports stories from Uganda.

He highlights his experiences at major sports events, including the World Athletics Championships and the Commonwealth Games.
