Borussia Dortmund are open to letting their wantaway midfielder leave on a free transfer this summer

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud is set to exit the club this summer as his contract comes to an end, with interest gathering among Premier League and Serie A clubs.

Dahoud calls time on Dortmund stint

Dahoud has decided to try his luck elsewhere after seeing his game time significantly reduced in his final season with Dortmund after succumbing to injuries, loss of form and a congested BVB midfield.

The midfielder has managed only nine Bundesliga games in the 2022/23 campaign, after playing 22 times in the 2021/22 season, and is now set to leave the club, and probably the league when his current deal runs out at the end of the current season.

Dahoud hoping to reignite career outside Bundesliga

Dahoud was tipped to be among the best players in the World when he first broke out as a product of Borussia Monchengladbach’s youth system, but a move to Dortmund has not gone the way the Germany international had hoped.

A combination of problems have stopped Dahoud from developing as expected, and the Syria-born midfielder is set for an adventure elsewhere starting this summer.

Dahoud has received interest from a number of clubs in the Premier League and Serie A who hope that the 27-year-old can rediscover his form and reignite his career with them.
