And with KCCA activating the option to recall him, Wasswa penned down a farewell to the Express faithful, for a short time well lived.

"I want to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible journey I've had with the club," Wasswa partly said in a statement.

"As I turn my focus back to my parent club, KCCA, I carry with me the valuable experiences gained during my time with Express."

Over four months since completing the temporary move to Wankulukuku, Wasswa has rediscovered his best form, having struggled at KCCA last season.

With Express, he scored four goals in 13 matches from the middle of the park, impressing his bosses in Lugogo, which has prompted a recall.

KCCA has struggled for consistent performances from their midfielders in the first round of the Uganda Premier League season.

Given his form, Wasswa would come in as a new signing as they continue to battle their way to the top positions.

KCCA currently sits ninth on the log with 19 points in 15 matches.
