Youssef En-Nesyri scored against Juventus in the Europa League to continue his incredible post-World Cup form for Sevilla
Moroccan forward Youssef En-Nesyri continues to prove his worth to Sevilla after the World Cup with his latest heroics for the Spanish side against Juventus in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League semifinal.
En-Nesyri continues Europa League hot streak against Juventus
En-Nesyri was on hand to give Sevilla the lead against the Old Lady in Italy with yet another crucial contribution as Los Nervionenses continued their march towards yet another Europa League semifinal.
The goal was the Moroccan’s fourth in the competition this season and, crucially, his fourth in the knockout stages after scoring against PSV in the round of 16 playoffs and netting a brace to knock out Premier League giants Manchester United in a 3-0 victory at the Ramon Sanchez Pijuan stadium.
En-Nesyri enjoying post-world Cup resurgence
His form after helping Morocco become the first African side to reach the semifinals at the 2022 FIFA World Cup has been nothing short of sensational, and will surely leave Sevilla fans wishing for more World Cup tournaments between seasons.
En-Nesyri was a shadow of his usual self in the first half of the season before the World Cup, scoring only two goals before December, while failing to find the net in the league.
However, since the end of the World Cup, the Moroccan forward has been reborn, scoring 16 goals in all competitions, as many as Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe in that period and only behind Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema for all LaLiga players.
En-Nesryi was already a prime target for clubs in Europe after his World Cup exploits and has only done his chances of securing a big move at the end of the season a world of good with recent impressive displays for Sevilla.
