The Spanish Ladies became World Champions for the first time, but they were not all that perfect like the Super Falcons at the World Cup.

Spain won the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup after beating England 1-0 in the final, but they were not finished the competition unbeaten.

Olga Carmona’s brilliant strike in the 29th minute gave Spain a deserved win over the Three Lionesses, who were looking to add the World title to the Euro crown they won last year.

Spain reached the final after edging out Sweden 2-1 in the semi-final while England defeated hosts Australia 3-1 in the other semi-final.

England had the best of the early chances, but La Roja were deserved winners as they dominated the match from beginning to end.

However, despite winning the title, Spain did not leave Australia and New Zealand as unbeaten champions.

Super Falcons, USA are 2023 Women's World Cup unbeaten teams

Instead, it is the Super Falcons and the United States of America that exit the competition with their unbeaten record intact.

Spain started their campaign with a 3-0 win over Costa Rica before thrashing Zambia 5-0. However, they were on the receiving end of a 4-0 drubbing in their final group game against Japan.

Meanwhile, the Super Falcons started their campaign with a draw against Canada before recording a stunning 3-2 win over Australia.

Nigeria rounded up their group stage campaign with another goalless draw against the Republic of Ireland.

Although Randy Waldrum’s men would eventually bow out to England in the round of 16, they only lost on penalties, meaning the nine-time African champions crashed out without losing a match in normal time.

The Super Falcons share this distinction with the USA, who despite failing to reach the semi-final for the first time, did not lose a single match.

The four-time world champions started with a 3-0 win over Vietnam before draws against The Netherlands and Portugal.

They also played a goalless draw against Sweden before losing on penalties.
