Attacker Allan Kayiwa has finally finalized his professional move, joining Ethiopian side Shashemene City Football Club, Pulse Sports understands.

Kayiwa has penned down a one-year employment contract with the Ethiopian Premier League side, pending official unveiling.

The developments come in handy after questions of Kayiwa's whereabouts during Express FC's 2-1 victory over KCCA FC on Sunday at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

He didn't appear at Lugogo, with reports indicating he had gone to one of Egypt or Ethiopia for trials and ultimately secure a deal.

And, an accomplice to the player, who preferred anonymity, has revealed to this website that it's in Ethiopia with Shashemene that Kayiwa has signed.

Meanwhile, the 2022/23 Uganda Premier League top scorer (13 goals) only recently signed a six-month contract extension with Express but will now cut short to trade in Ethiopia for the next 12 months.

His new contract at Express had come only moments before they played their first season game against Mbarara City FC, which eventually ended in a barren stalemate.

Months back, Kayiwa had been the subject of speculation linking him to various team in Rwanda, a return to Vipers and a close switch to NEC FC.

Then, it was reported that the move to NEC only failed because of failure to reach levelled grounds on the contract terms amicably.

Meanwhile, at his new club, Kayiwa joins former BUL FC and SC Villa goalkeeper Saidi Keni, who joined them earlier in September this year.

With just one game played in the Ethiopian Premier League, Shashemene sit 15th on the 16-team table with no point.
