Ochieng and Ng'anga featured for Zanaco but could not help them get all the three points against MUZA, while Jesse Were was left out of Kansashi Dynamo's 2-1 win over Trident.

Former Gor Mahia pair of John Ochieng’ and Dennis Ng’ang’a featured as Zanaco were held to a 0-0 draw by MUZA to keep them 10th in the Zambian MTN Super League table on Saturday.

In another fixture, former Tusker and Harambee Stars striker Jessue Jackson Were was left out as Kansashi Dynamos kept their survival hopes alive with a first win in five league appearances the season, as they downed Trident 2-1.

Ochieng started at the heart of Zanaco’s midfield, having earned praise for his tough-tackling approach  this season while Ng’ang’a, who has been a constant starrer on the left side of the defence, was rested for the match, but he did come on as a substitute in the 71st minute in a match that really did not have much to write about.

Were, who joined Dynamos from Zesco after making history as their top marksman of all time, was left out of the squad as Dynamos had to battle to a win under challenging conditions, with persistent rains and a waterlogged pitch throughout at Nchanga Stadium.

In the 29th minute, KDFC broke the deadlock through Titus Chivunga who scored a beautiful goal, giving KDFC a 1-0 lead.

The second half witnessed a close chance for Trident, with Walaza Tembo's free kick going slightly over the bar in the 54th minute.

The visitors equalized through a penalty taken by Tembo, who was fouled inside the box by Mathew Mutambo in the 62nd minute.

In the 72nd minute, a chance for Jimmy Mukeya was met with a beautiful save by Joseph Lilanda. The subsequent corner was wasted.

The heated derby continued with chances from both sides. This time, Trident had an opportunity in the 73rd minute, but the KDFC defense denied them.

Finally, Dynamos were back in the lead with the visitors gifting an own goal through Kanamuli Kapilimba in the 89th minute.
