Gundogan’s goal to give Manchester City the lead was clocked at only 12 seconds after the start of the game, making it the fastest goal in the history of the FA Cup final.

Before the German midfielder, the record belonged to French forward Loius Saha, who scored after 25 seconds in the 2009 FA Cup final for Everton against Chelsea.

Gundogan’s goal gave Manchester United a jump scare in the final, but they were able to find an equaliser through a Bruno Fernandes penalty before Gundogan scored again to give the Cityzens the lead a second time.

The German midfielder also set another record with his second goal for Manchester City in the game, becoming the first player to score two goals from outside the box in an FA Cup final.
