The Kenya international made 77 appearances for IL Hødd, scoring 22 goals before being released following the end of the Norwegian league season in 2023.

Harambee Stars striker Alfred Scriven is now a free agent after he was released by IL Hødd following the end of the Norwegian Division One last year.

Scriven made 77 appearances for IL Hødd, scoring 22 goals and registering six assists since joining in 2021 from Mjondalen IF.

The 25-year-old, born in Kenya to a Kenyan mother and an English father has spent the last eight years of his career in Norway after living in Kenya for 16 years.

Scriven moved to Norway in 2015 where he spent two years with Hallingdal, playing in the third and fourth tiers of Norwegian football.

After he moved to Mjondalen IF in the Norwegian second tier in 2018, but spent the first two years playing for their second-tier team in the fourth division.

He was then sent out on loan to Ull/Kisa and Asker in 2019 and 2020 with the teams then playing in the first division and second respectively.

He ultimately then joined second-tier side IL Hødd, whom he played for until the end of last season.

The forward has earned two caps for the Harambee Stars, with his maiden being against Iran last March.

Firat has previously insisted that he called up Scriven because he wanted more physicality in his setup.

“He is a hard working player, very aggressive especially on the high balls. He is bringing something that I am missing in the team.

“The Kenyan league is a soft league and I have noticed that we don’t play physically here in Kenya. Every small thing is a foul,” the tactician stated at the time he called him up in 2023.

The forward will be hoping he can get a club soon in order to get sufficient game time that will enable him to stay in Firat’s plans in what will be a monumental year for the side.

Harambee Stars will be on duty in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, as well as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
