Jonah Ayunga, who was recently called up to the Harambee Stars squad, featured as St Mirren blew a 2-0 lead to lose 5-2 to Kilmarnock.

Harambee Stars striker Jonah Ayunga came on as a substitute as St Mirren blew a 2-0 lead to lose 5-2 to Kilmarnock in a Scottish Premiership encounter on Saturday.

Kilmarnock completed a remarkable turnaround with an incredible burst of five goals in 19 second-half minutes as they overcame Ayunga and his teammates to go fourth in the Scottish Premiership.

Goals from Charles Dunne and Mikael Mandron initially gave the visitors a seemingly comfortable lead. However, Derek McInnes' tactical adjustment, switching from three to four at the back, completely changed the course of the game.

The hosts began their comeback on the hour mark, with Kyle Vassell igniting the fightback. Soon after, a penalty converted by Danny Armstrong and a header from Marley Watkins propelled the hosts into the lead.

The stunning turnaround was capped off by a brilliant individual goal from David Watson and Vassell's second of the game.

With this remarkable revival, Killie moved two points ahead of St Mirren in the standings, while the Paisley side remained in fifth place.

Ayunga recently received a call-up to Engin Firat’s 27-man-squad for the Malawi Four Nations Tournament, with their first game being against the hosts on Saturday, 23 March.

He has already declared he would like to represent Kenya at the 2026 World Cup. He has scored two goals in 11 appearances since his return from injury last December, but has been relegated to an impact substitute in recent matches.
