Even before kicking a ball, URA FC were victors in head coach David Obua's mind as they battled Maroons FC in the Uganda Premier League on Thursday at the Mehta Stadium, Lugazi.

Obua paid attention to detail before restart, observed his opponent's warmup, and concluded the Tax Collectors had to win.

In the end, his team were comfortable 2-0 winners,  courtesy of Enock Walusimbi and Norman Namanya.

"I was watching Maroons from the warmup and I didn't think they were prepared to play," Obua told the club media after the game.

"They were slow in their passing pattern, and I told the team this team is there for the taking."

"If we had moved the ball better and quicker, we would have punished them even more, but I'm happy with the win though the performance wasn't the best."

Despite the victory, URA stayed seventh on the log but moved to 30 points, two behind third-placed Vipers SC.

"We're sniffing, we're looking at that table game by game. I told them, we shall take it process by process and we shall come close," an assured Obua added.

URA will be back in action with a hugely anticipated Stanbic Uganda Cup encounter against KCCA FC on Monday.
