Lazio takes a one-goal advantage to Germany after defeating Bayern Munich in the first leg of the round of 16 match.

Both teams were looking to get a good result from the first leg game but it was Lazio that got a slight advantage heading to the second leg.

The home side defeated Bayern Munich 1-0 as they took one step closer to the quarter-final of the UCL.

Ciro Immobile’s goal from the penalty spot was enough to seal the first-leg win for Lazio against Tuchel’s men.

As it happened

There is one change to the Lazio side that beat Cagliari 3-1 in their weekend Serie A fixture, as Matias Vecino replaced Danilo Cataldi in midfield and their top scorer Ciro Immobile, leads the line.

Three changes were made by Tuchel to the Bayern Munich starting lineup from the squad that was heavily defeated by Bayer Leverkusen.

Eric Dier was dropped to the bench, as Thomas Tuchel appears to adopt a four-man defence rather than the 3-4-3 deployed against Leverkusen.

Bayern Munich started the game brightly, taking the game to the home side and putting pressure on their defence.

However, both teams could not create any chance in the first half as the referee blew the whistle for half-time.

The second half started and the home side added more intensity to their games and made several attempts to get the first goal.

It wasn't until the 69th minute when Ciro Immobile danced around the box and found Gustav Isaksen, who shot wide.

But as he's shooting wide Dayot Upamecano stands on his ankle which led to the referee sending him off and pointing to the penalty spot.

Lazio captain Ciro Immobile, their top scorer, steps up and sends Manuel Neuer the wrong way.

Bayern Munich tried getting an equaliser despite their red card but could not create any chance until the final whistle.
