After leading Liverpool to the EPL title, former PSV Eindhoven manager Arne Slot has found himself in an elite company of coaches that includes José Mourinho.

Netherlands tactician Arne Slot has written his name boldly in the Premier League’s history books after leading the Reds to a historic league title.

The Dutchman is the third Liverpool manager behind the legendary Kenny Dalglish and Joe Fagan to win the league title in his debut season. Joe Fagan won the league during the 1983/84 while Kenny Dalglish‘s triumph was in the 1985/86 season.

Slot becomes the first Dutchman to win a Premier League title and in the process leading Liverpool to a record-equalling 20th League title but only the second in the Premier League era. Manchester United previously held the record for the most League title wins, after Sir Alex Ferguson guided the Red Devils to lift a 20th trophy in his last season at the club back in 2013.

Since winning the first season of the revamped Premier League format, Manchester United have won it 13 times — the most by any club within that time frame, with Liverpool managing just two wins in 19/20 under Jurgen Klopp and 24/25 under Arne Slot.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot joined an exclusive group of managers to have won the Premier League at the first time of asking, after leading the Reds to defeat Tottenham 5-1 at Anfield. Luis Diaz, Mac Allister, Gakpo, Salah, and an Udogie own goal sealed the win after Solanke had given Tottenhan the lead in the 12th minute.

It took 82 points from 34 games (25 wins, 7 draws, and just 2 defeats) for Liverpool under Arne Slot to snatch the 24/25 Premier League title.

Meanwhile, in 2005, Jose Mourinho led a dogged Chelsea side to a historic Premier League crown after joining the Blues from Porto.

Mourinho built a team that was well-known for its water-tight defense, shipping in just 15 goals all season, losing just one game, and finishing with 95 points.

The Portuguese tactician would go on to retain the League title the following season but he was unable to deliver the coveted UEFA Champions League title to Chelsea.

Carlo Ancelotti

Another Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti also won the league in his debut season at the Stamford Bridge club in 2009-2010. Ancelotti became the first Italian manager to win the EPL title.

Ancelotti’s team was a purely attacking side, with a potent strike force that included Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka, Florent Malouda, etc.

Chelsea scored a then-record 103 goals and also posted the best goal difference in a season (+71). However, Ancellotti was sacked by the Blues the following season for failing to win the UEFA Champions League and finishing runners-up in the league.

Manuel Pellegrini

The Chilean tactician was brought to the Etihad to revive Manchester City’s title ambition after they finished behind city rivals Manchester United the previous season.

Manuel Pellegrini, previous manager of Malaga didn’t fail his employers as he delivered the League title, coming from behind to take full advantage of Liverpool’s slip up.

Liverpool were favourites and runaway league leaders but after a 4-4 draw against Crystal Palace and an infamous Gerrard’s slip that Demba Ba and Chelsea took advantage of, City were handed the initiative.

Ivorian midfield powerhouse Yaya Toure was the standout player for the Cityzens that campaign, scoring 20 league goals from central midfield.

Claudio Ranieri

Many would remember this as possibly one of the unlikeliest of triumphs in football history, as Leicester City did the impossible.

The Foxes under the tutelage of Italian manager Claudio Ranieri defied the odds and stunned the whole of England, when they went on to lift the Premier League in the 2015/2016 season.

Ranieri had the efficient Kasper Schmeichel in goal, Robert Huth and Wes Morgan in defence; Ngolo Kante and Danny Drinkwater manned the midfield, while Riyad Mahrez, Shinji Okazaki and the reliable Jarmy Vardy led the line for the Foxes.

It was an extra-ordinary season — one that may never happen again in our lifetime but Leicester City and Claudio Ranieri gave us something to forever cheer.

Antonio Conte

After finishing in 10th position the previous season, Chelsea turned to Italian coach Antonio Conte to help resuscitate the Blues.

However, after dominating Serie A with Juventus, he faced a difficult task in the Premier League that had former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola now coaching Manchester City.

Surprisingly, Conte would not be intimidated. After suffering a 3-1 defeat at home to Arsenal, the former Italy coach switched to a 4-3-3 formation for the remainder of the campaign.

The new system allowed players like Nigeria’s Victor Moses and Cesar Azpilicueta to operate as flying wingbacks, terrorising defences and the ever-impressive Eden Hazard mesmerising opposition players.

In the end, Conte delivered the Premier League title in his first season at the London club.
