Phillips, who has completed a move to West Ham on loan from Manchester City, has labeld Kenya as his favorite holiday destination.

West Ham United loanee Kalvin Phillips  has shared his preferred holiday destination In a recent rapid-fire session with the club’s media team shortly after completing his move this week.

The England international has revealed that  he holds a special affinity for Kenya. He has officially joined the Hammers on a loan deal until the end of the season, halting his forgettable 18-month stint at the Etihad Stadium after completing  a £45 million ,move from Leeds.

When asked about his favorite holiday destination, Phillips promptly replied, "Kenya."

His connection with the East African country dates back to July 2022 when he spent two weeks there after transitioning from Leeds to Manchester City.

During his visit, Phillips immersed himself in a safari experience at Tsavo National Park, residing in a luxurious camp within this expansive destination.

He expressed his admiration for Kenya on social media during his stay, emphasizing the unforgettable experience of witnessing wild animals in their natural habitat.

“The past two weeks we travelled to Kenya on a Safari which was an experience I don’t think we will ever be able to top!!

“Me &my girlfriend absolutely love animals so having the chance to do our best David Attenborough is something we won’t ever forget, seeing these animals in the wild was unreal!,” Philips posted on his Instagram page.

Now donning the number 11 shirt for West Ham, Phillips expressed his excitement about claiming this number for the first time in his career.

His previous shirt numbers included 40 at Leeds, 27, and later 23 for five seasons. However, the number 23 was unavailable at Manchester City, having been retired in 2003 out of respect for the late Marc-Vivien Foe, a former City star who tragically passed away after collapsing on the pitch.

Consequently, Phillips wore the number four during his less-than-ideal tenure at the Etihad Stadium.

Following in the footsteps of notable players like Lucas Paqueta, Nikola Vlasic, Jesse Lingard, and Robert Snodgrass, Phillips is set to make his debut wearing West Ham's number 11 shirt.

The 28-year-old may have the opportunity to kickstart his career as early as next week when West Ham faces Bournemouth at the London Stadium, aiming to secure their first victory in five games across all competitions.
