Harambee Stars full-back Eric 'Marcelo' Ouma helped AIK avoid relegation as Timothy ‘Babu’ Ouma missed out on the title on the last day of Swedish league action.

Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma ended his fourth season with AIK on a high as the Stockholm-based side ended the season on a high after avoiding relegation from the Swedish Allsvenskan with a 3-1 win over Varnamo on Sunday evening.

Ouma made two blocks, as many interceptions and won three ground duels and completed two of his three take ons, to cap off a good 89 minutes.

Hat-trick hero Ioannis Pitas would be the player to give the 2018 league champions all the three points, guaranteeing them another season of top flight football.

Pitas got his first goal of the night in the 17th minute when he got on the end of a Mads Thychosen assist, before doubling his tally two minutes later.

Pitas would complete his hat-trick in the 31st minute to epitomise how superior AIK were on the day.

Gustav Engval would reduce the deficit for Varnemo in the 56th minute, but it was not enough to prevent them from losing the game.

In another Allsveskan match, Timothy Ouma will have to console himself after Elfsborg missed out on the title by losing 1-0 to Malmo in what was effectively a title-deciding match for both sides.

A goal from the penalty spot in the 56th minute by Isaac Kiese Thelin was enough to give them all the three points, meaning they won the title on 64 points, level on points with Elfsborg, but with a superior goal difference of 15.

Ouma has made four league appearances this season.
