Marcelo looked inspired as the defending champions brushed aside Lech on Sunday evening.

Harambee Stars left-back Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma was superb as his new club Rakow Częstochowa brushed aside Lech Poznan 4-0 on Sunday evening.

Ouma, who was making his fourth league appearance for the club since joining, bombed up and down the left flank, winning three of his five attempted ground duels and making two out of three successful dribbles.

He also registered one key pass during the minutes he was on the pitch before being subbed off in the 72nd minute.

In the 14th minute, Bartosz Nowak opened the scoring when he slotted in a perfect free kick into the back of the net past the helpless Lech Poznan goalkeeper Bartosz Mrozek.

Ten minutes later, Gustav Berggren made it two when, after initially opting against making a strong shot, after fluttered into the net of Mrozek's goal.

In the 36th minute, the Swede would score his second of the day when he decided to shoot from outside the penalty area to give Raków a 3-0 lead into the break.

In the second half, the defending champions would make it four when Fran Tudor shot the ball into the penalty area before it bounced off Bartosz Mrozek and went in.

Rakow will face Ruch Chorzów in their next league encounter later this month.

The result also means that Rackow are fifth on 39 points but with a game in hand, which should they win, would put them second on 42 points, just three behind league leaders Slask.

Ouma was sold to the Polish side for over Ksh150 million by Swedish side AIK last month after spending over three years at the club.

The defender signed a two-year deal, with an option for as many more years, at Rakow Czestochowa.
