The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup after winning on penalties against Senegal in the quarter-final of the U-20 AFCON.
Nigeria's youth men's national team known as the Flying Eagles defeated their counterparts from Senegal on penalties in a Quarter-final clash at the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (CAF) on Monday, May 12, 2025.

The Flying Eagles came into the game with a group stage sweep without a loss.
They started with a 1-0 win against Tunisia, then played out a 0-0 draw against Morocco and a 2-2 draw with Kenya.

The result means that the Flying Eagles picked up a ticket in the U-20 AFCON semifinals and also qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup later this year.
