Serie A side AC Milan players were happy to see Nigeria's AFCON 2023 star Samuel Chukwueze back in training at the club.

Italian giants AC Milan gave Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze a hero’s welcome on his return from international duty with Nigeria.

Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that Chukwueze has returned to training after helping Nigeria to a podium finish at the 34th AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.

The 24-year-old was part of the Super Eagles’ failed attempt to end Nigeria’s 10-year wait for another AFCON title.

He featured in five of the seven matches Nigeria played and three of them, including the final against the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire.

However, despite creating the highest big chances for Nigeria, the former Villarreal man ended the competition with no goal or assist.

Following the post-AFCON celebrations in Abuja, Chukwueze has returned to his base in Italy and was warmly welcomed back by the club and his teammates.
