Deschamps backs Zidane for France job
In an interview with L’Equipe, Deschamps acknowledged Zidane as a “natural and expected” choice to lead Les Bleus in the future.

The current France boss confirmed his departure in January but will remain in charge until the 2026 FIFA World Cup, giving the French Football Federation (FFF) ample time to find his replacement.

“Yes, of course, there is a lot of respect between us," Deschamps said, adding, "Zizou is a very good candidate, natural and I would add expected. Afterwards, I don’t know if he will want to become the manager.”

Since leaving Real Madrid in 2021, Zidane has been highly selective about his next coaching role, rejecting several club offers as he seemingly waits for the France job to open up.
