French champions Paris Saint-Germain believe Kylian Mbappe will stay beyond this season, despite his current contract expiring this summer and Real Madrid lurking.

According to the latest reports from L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) remains optimistic about retaining their star player, Kylian Mbappé, despite the looming interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old French forward, who also serves as the captain of the France national team, is at the centre of a high-profile transfer saga. While his current contract situation remains uncertain, PSG are said to be showing no signs of worry.

PSG's Strategy: Keeping Mbappé at Parc des Princes

PSG believes strongly in their chances of extending Mbappé's stay at the Parc des Princes. L’Équipe reveals that the club is relying on an option in his current contract that allows for an extension, suggesting that major renegotiations might not be necessary.

The focus will instead be on fine-tuning a few minor details to secure the former Monaco player's future in Paris.

Mbappé, reportedly content at PSG, gives the club's officials, including Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, reasons to be optimistic. This positive atmosphere at the club is a crucial factor in their confidence regarding Mbappé's decision.

Real Madrid's plan: A calculated pursuit of Mbappé

On the other side of this transfer drama is Real Madrid, under the leadership of Florentino Perez, who has not hidden his admiration and desire to bring Mbappé to the Santiago Bernabéu.

As Pulse Sports reported, Real Madrid are gearing up to make their move, with an offer expected to be on the table soon. The Athletic adds that this offer will likely come with specific terms to avoid a repeat of the complications encountered during the 2022 transfer window.

Real Madrid appear to be adopting a less aggressive stance this time around. While Mbappé remains a target, L’Équipe reports that the La Liga leaders are not overly fixated on him.

Real Madrid's approach indicates a broader view of their sporting project, suggesting that they are prepared to move forward, with or without the French superstar.
