Christophe Galtier, head coach of Paris Saint-Germain, angrily refuted Wednesday's allegations that he used racial remarks when serving as the Nice head coach.

At the Allianz Riviera in Ligue 1, PSG defeated Nice 2-0, but the game was overshadowed by the hostility between the home team's fans and the visiting team's manager. PSG coach Galtier was attacked by Nice supporters during the game.

Meanwhile, Galtier was greeted on his return to his old stomping ground with a banner insulting his mother, and as expected took exception to the gesture.

Galtier debunk former Nice director’s accusation

In a leaked email to the club's owners, the former Nice director of football Julien Fournier allegedly accused Galtier of complaining that the squad had too many Black and Muslim players, as reported by RMC Sport and other French media.

The PSG manager has quashed the accusation laid against him by Nice former director of football.

In a statement released by his lawyer to French media, Galtier said he was "stunned to learn of the insulting and defamatory comments" and said he would take legal action about the situation.

PSG supporters stands against rasism

Galtier's dismissal has been demanded by a major group of PSG fans if he truly uttered the alleged remarks.

PSG supporters group in a statement said, "The Ultras Paris Collective is closely following the Galtier case. If the facts he is accused of are proven, it is not acceptable that this person remains in the organisational chart of the club.

"We recall that we have always taken a stand against all forms of discrimination."

As a result of his team's dismal run since the beginning of the year, Galtier has been under pressure at PSG. PSG lost five games in 2023, which resulted in a six-point deficit in the standings for the French league as a result of its second consecutive exit from the Champions League round of 16.
