"It's been a great season for me, and I have learnt a lot; my motivating factor remains to play professional football."

The former Proline forward joined Vipers SC's Yunus Ssentamu as the only two players to have scored four goals in a league game this season.

Rogers Mato's good season was also capped by his solitary strike against Tanzania away in the 2023 AFCON Qualifier as he came on as a substitute to slot home Farouk Miya's pass and gave the Cranes their first win in the qualifiers.

He is part of the squad summoned by Cranes coach Multin Micho Sredejovic ahead of the 2023 AFCON Qualifier against Algeria, where the Cranes must win to keep their AFCON 2024 qualification hopes alive.

Rogers Mato is part of the Uganda Cranes squad that travelled for the Eastern Region Na Mutima tour.

The Uganda Cranes last played at the African nations showpiece in 2019 when they reached the round of 16 for the first time since 1978. Mato Rogers joined KCCA FC in 2021 from Proline FC.
