French Ligue 1 side Nantes has been hit hard as Nigerian forward Moses Simon has been sidelined for the remainder of the season due to an injury sustained during international duty.

The Super Eagles winger suffered the blow during Nigeria's recent clash against Mali, where they suffered a 2-0 defeat.

The injury occurred in the 33rd minute after a collision with the opposing goalkeeper, forcing Simon to leave the pitch with assistance. Despite efforts from the medical staff, he couldn't continue and was replaced by Cyriel Dessers.

Nantes coach Antoine Kombouare faces a challenging task as he navigates the club's fight against relegation without one of their key players.

With only eight games left in the season and Nantes sitting precariously in 16th place, finding a suitable replacement for Simon becomes imperative for Kombouare and his team.
